Never to meet
The sun sets over the skyline.
Like a big beautiful ball of setting fire.
Painting the blank canvas of the sky
With his magnificent shades of pink,
Oranges and purple.
And as another day comes to a close.
The stars draw that curtain of
Multicolour goodness to a close,
to instead take their place
and sparkle brightly in the night sky.
Like permafrost on black velvet.
Giving way to the moon
who casts her silver radiance,
As the world falls asleep.
The sun and moon
Both do their part.
Never once meeting,
as each shines their light
With only the stars
beholding their brilliance.
